Culture during winter

We have many museums and cultural attractions, and some are open in winter. Check out our top picks for what to experience when you’re in the region.

Domkirkeodden

A lovely walk from Hamar city center takes you to Domkirkeodden. Experience a wonderful open-air area with one of Norway’s largest medieval museums, which tells the story from the Viking Age, through the Middle Ages, and up to the present day. In winter, the museum itself is closed, but the museum garden is open all year round and is a great area for walks.

It is also possible to pre-book guided tours of the museum in winter.
